During the time that I worked as a part-time shop attendant, I developed a heel spur. It was so painful that I had to quit work. Good thing, I discovered a podiatrist or a foot pain specialist who helped me cure this foot problem.

I decided to work a part-time shop attendant in a mall near our house so that I could have an extra allowance for school and personal needs. Even though my parents did not oblige me to earn my own allowance, I still insisted because I also wanted to use the extra money to buy a brand-new laptop. The job was alright because it was not too stressful, but I eventually developed a foot problem after a few months. I frequently felt a sharp, stabbing pain around the bottom heels. It became too difficult for me to stand longer in high heels, and I cannot stay longer anymore for work. This also affected my after-school activities. I can no longer practice during for our upcoming badminton competition in our school. Because of this, I decided to consult a podiatrist.

I was lucky to discover a podiatric clinic at Orchard Road. Even though I haven’t researched and read reviews about it, I still decided to get treated there because during the time I visited the clinic, everyone was so accommodating and friendly. Also, I felt at ease when I entered when I saw that the doctors seem approachable and professional. So, I booked a schedule for a consultation.

During the consultation, I found out that the cause of the frequent sharp pain at the bottom of my left foot is heel spur. It seems like I got it from frequently standing and walking for a long period of time. Plus, I am wearing heels so this adds to the cause of the heel spur. He recommended me to get a shockwave therapy and sports taping to relieve and heal this foot problem. Also, he advised that I should wear customised orthotics. This will give the proper support to my left foot.

Shockwave Therapy

I was kind of afraid at first because the shockwave therapy might feel too painful. But when the treatment started, it wasn’t too painful. Although I did feel a slight discomfort on the affected area, it didn’t really hurt that much. After it, I felt sudden gush of relief on my foot. I tried walking around the clinic and the sharp pain that I usually feel on my left foot was gone. Although I could still a bit discomfort, it is not as painful as it was before.

After the therapy, they gave me the prescribed foot orthotics that was especially made for my foot. Until now, I use them and put it inside my shoes. This helped me feel more comfortable while walking and doing sports activities.

If you are looking for a foot pain specialist in Singapore, I highly recommend the ones from ECPC (East Coast Podiatry Clinic). I have tried their heel spur treatment in Singapore and I can say that this treatment is truly safe and effective.
